11/7/2024: Despair (I Hate Being an American)

(Warning: This blog is about the 2024 Election results, so expect this to be long, snarky, have some strong feelings, strong swearing and some heavy stuff. Please take care before reading on.)

I hate it when I’m right.

In the past few weeks, I had a bad feeling about this Election Day for some reason. As I feel like it’s going to be in Trump’s favor. No matter how much that both the media and even my own mother told me that Harris is going to win and Trump is going to lose, that feeling won’t go away. I wish I was wrong. Like, I really, really DO! I’m going to guess that it’s probably a gut feeling or something.

But on November 6, 2024, it turns out my gut feeling was right. That he won. He FUCKING WON!!!!!

God, it’s 2016 all over again and this time it’s the squirrel that died, not the gorilla!

But no meltdown this time, I just feel numb instead. But I expect a meltdown to happen in the future as autistic people are known to have delayed reactions when it comes to emotions.

At least I didn’t stay all night looking at various news sites on Election Night to see which candidates made it 270 Electoral points, like I did when I was 21 years old! That what caused me to have my worst meltdown in years as it was the day that not only made me lost trust in our government, but it also caused me to get off of Facebook and Twitter for a while as I cope having a racist and sexist man as our next president (which I mention in one of my earlier blogs here).

Well, I did spend some time on Associated Press, (aka, one of the few news sites that I can trust) where starting around 6pm on Election Night, I pop in every hour to see who’s in the lead. But after 2 hours and seeing that Trump has over 120 points compared to 70 points for Harris, I started to felt uneasy and decided to hop off the Internet for the night and by 9pm; I went to bed, like an old person would do.

But I had problems sleeping that night as I keep thinking to myself that “Trump’s going to win”, “he’s going to win” and so forth. Then during that faithful day, I still had a gut feeling that he won this. No matter how much I wanted to be wrong, that gut feeling won’t go away. I wish I was wrong!

Then around 10pm, I got a notification from a junk text message on my iPhone, saying that we should mourn with our families right now and prepare this weekend to protest over the election result. That’s when I knew that Harris lost.

This was a second time we tried to get a woman to be our president, but we said no.

What a shame.

I knew this was going to happen. It’s that stupid gut feeling I had in the past few weeks that she was going to lose. She did well in September’s debate and still lost! Even Taylor Swift’s endorsement wasn’t enough for Harris to win!

But I “think” I know why she lost (which I could be very wrong). She lost because of inflation and the Israel-Hamas war. I think it’s those two things that were going to haunt her (and the Democrats) no matter how much she tried to win the voters. They came back and bit her in the ass, like I knew was going to happen.

I had a feeling that people were getting nostalgic over Trump’s presidency as back then, the economy was good, and the unemployment rate was at its lowest. It made me sick to hear that immigrants, Black and Hispanic men wanted Trump BACK as it was the only time they HAD money! Yeah, our president maybe dumb and racist, but everything was so cheap! /s

Yeah, good luck enjoying paying high taxes as he’s about to put an embargo on import goods in the next few years, assholes!

Then there was the war in Gaza that was very unpopular with young people, people my age and Muslims. I hear that they refused to vote for Biden (and later Harris) due to being pro-Israel, made me worried that they’re going to either vote 3rd party (which is throwing away your vote in America as I learned the hard way in one of blogs that I wrote early this year) or stay home and not vote. It looked like that what happened and it made me sad that I correctly predicted that the Israel-Hamas war is what caused Harris to lose.

Then there was last week, where Biden accidently called Trump’s supporters “garbage” in video call. I think it probably drove the moderate Republicans (that Harris has been trying to grab for weeks) away from her and the Democrats and voted for Trump just to prove him wrong!

How about Biden’s promise to cancelled student loans (which he tried to do) and then the Republicans and the Supreme Court said no, you have to pay it the long way like everyone else! This might drove people with college debt away from the Democrats and decided that no one gets their votes.

Maybe it was the lies and misinformation that A.I. spread on social media, tricked people in voting for Trump or even not voting at all (which I mention in one of my other blogs)!

Or that some rather vote for Hawk Tuah as their president instead as its funnier that way! She’s not even old enough to run for president, you jerks! (I have been spending too much time on the Internet as you can tell)

But even if Biden was still running, it didn’t matter. The Democrats lost and all the progress that the Biden administration did in the past 3 years, has now gone to waste.

Trans people are going to be banned from serving the military again. Heck, trans people might actually become outlawed by the Trump administration due to Project 2025, a political initiative that the Republicans want to put in our government so badllllly! Same thing with the LGBT community, better flee now as you can. IF you can afford to leave the country that is!

The environment protection is going to be stripped once again. So no more parks. They’ll be turned to oil fields before you know it!

Say bye-bye to our Internet privacy, porn and digital piracy too. The Republicans want our Internet to be a pure, Christian place. So you get no privacy as Big Brother will be watching every click (and purchase) you make. Better get a VPN route right now before they ban that too!

Abortion is done for. Expect more pregnant women to die because hospitals are now too scared to operate both her and her unborn child as they fear that they might accidently break the law if her unborn baby dies!

Same-sex marriage might become illegal soon because one of conservative rapist Supreme Justice Member said so back in 2022!

Brown v. Board might be the next thing to go. And how about you strip public education funding with that and give it to the religious and charter schools instead! This won’t make our Founding Fathers mad! Nope, not at ALLLL!!!! /s

My rights are going to be taken away in the next few years and it’s going to fucking suck!

Like, I did my early voting with my mom and older sister two weeks ago. We voted for Harris, thinking things will be fine and Trump STILL FUCKING WINS!!! Like WHYYYYY!?!?!

Sometimes, I feel like my vote doesn’t matter at all. It did in 2020, but not anymore.

Now my mom, whose been working for both the military and the government for 32 years as a civilian contractor, is about to lose her job because Trump want to replace the government workers with those who will support him. And my mom, who voted for Harris, isn’t one of them. I think she should retire now in order to save herself the trouble.

Then there’s my older sister a single mom of three children, who works at a general manager at a Sally Beauty. Trump and the Republicans don’t want single moms to work. Heck, they don’t want her and my widow mom to have rights at ALL! They want a MAN to have rights of the household! So basically, the head of the household should be my 17 years old lazy nephew who’s about to graduate high school in 7 months? Yeah right…

Then there’s the fact my family is black, which mean any rights that our race gained in the past 60 years, will be gone. The Supreme Court got rid of race-based affirmation action in 2023, which means it’s now harder to get into universities if you’re not white. They should get rid of Fair Housing Act as well, which mean my mom will no longer legally own the house that we’re been living in for the past 10 YEARS! /s

I’m scared for the future of my nephew and my nieces as they’ll see their rights being taken away, one by one. And one of them even voted for Harris on Election Day!

Well, at least we didn’t get those riots or Civil War that we dread hearing in case Trump lost! Like really, a few days before Election Day, mom told me to not go out as she fears violence in case Trump lost. And the kicker is that we live in a suburb, outside of a major city in Texas, where crime is less likely to happen! Thankfully, no violence happened. But, I did hear some fireworks going off on Election Night. They must be for Trump as they know that he won and he’s going to make the economy look great again! /s

As for those who supported and voted for Trump, I hope you feel good about yourself and hope you get what you wanted from him. I know the rest won’t. So, don’t rub this in your liberal relatives’ faces over this during this Thanksgiving. It’s the last thing they want to be reminded of. That their candidate is “garbage”, just like them!

Because of Trump’s (expected) victory, I’m planning to stay away from ALL of my remaining social media accounts for a little longer as I cope on what’s going to happen to me and my family’s future. I know Reddit, Tumblr and Bluesky (which I flirt about using as of late) are in deep mourning right now as everyone think it’s the end of the world as we know it. I rather not spend my time there, which will make my mental health worst. Same thing with reading the news online, it’s all nothing but bad news anyways.

But at least TikTok won’t get banned once Trump is in office! So hurray for those who use it…

I’ll still do updates for my two sites, but I won’t spend too much of my time browsing the Activity feed or the Home feed there for mental reasons. I won’t be updating my Status.cafe account that much either. So many people there are worried about their futures as they’re either queer, trans, people of color or ALL OF ABOVE!

I feel you and I’m sorry we got to deal with a racist president and his jerkish vice president, who (sadly) came from my home state of Ohio. Especially this was your first time voting in your general election. I promise they weren’t that bad!

At least some of the good “things” about staying away from social media and most parts of the Internet in the past few days is that I devolved a Total Drama slasher AU series (that has the 4th generation involved) in my head to keep me thinking from gloom and doom of whatever Trump and his Republican cronies are going to do in the White House next year! Why yes, despite me liking cute and pink things, I do like to make my favorite characters suffer in pain! Sounds like an allegory of what’s going to happen in the next few years.

And listen to Green Day’s “American Idiot” album on repeat as I cope that my country is going to be the laughing stock for the next 4 years. At least we have the Netherlands, Italy, Austria and Argentina to keep us company as the far right has gained control in our respected governments. Expect Canada and Germany to join us next year too. And France as well in 2027 as the far right is inching closer and closer to gaining full support there.

Then there’s poor Ukraine, who has no choice but to surrender to Russia next year because they lost their biggest support as I heard Trump is buddies buddies with Putin! Expect Trump to put Americans soldiers in Gaza as soon he gets in office and have them fight the Hamas and kill more Palestinians than before! All of the sake of “freedom”! /s

And funny thing about the day Trump won his reelection, I was at a local CVS store with my mom getting passport pictures as the government FINALLY made an option to renew it online (which Trump might take away in the future)! So once they approve my soulless picture that I paid $22 bucks for, I’ll have my passport, which will be good for the next 10 years! Because of that, me and mom joked that we can easily flee the country in case Trump does something bad as we the only people in our household to have passports!

I hope I don’t have to flee the country again as I did in 2019 as I DID remember we survive 4 years of Trump. We can survive 4 more years of Trump. It won’t be easy, but we’ll get through it. And hope the rest of this year doesn’t suck…?

Yeah right, we’re all doomed anyways.
